Hot Seat Blog Series

While not exactly saving the best for last, this is the last division on the Hot Seat series. Arizona almost shocked the world last year, scaring the bejeebers out of Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl; however, the rest of the division is on the rebound (in a truly politically correct, left-handed compliment way of stating the obvious)!
But are any of these coaches really on the Hot Seat? Click the link below and see if you agree with my perception of the world . . .
Three teams “way out west”, and one team in the Midwest that claims to be the “gateway” . . . aw, who the hell am I kidding, I flunked geography. But wait a minute – that might qualify me for a job with the NFL in their division realignment group:
4) Ken Whisenhunt, Arizona Cardinals – A trip to the Super Bowl should buy Whisenhunt time with this long-suffering franchise – he is in the process of molding the club even now, replacing last year’s defensive coordinator and drafting players that are winners.
3) Mike Singletary, San Francisco 49’ers – A true definition of a leader, Singletary is gradually changing the culture of the 49’ers from a finesse team to one that will hit you in the mouth! He is right at the top of the list of doing more with less.
2) Jim Mora, Seattle Seahawks – Another team in transition, Mora will have to address the QB situation soon. This roster is also in a “make-over mode”, as they are neither fish nor fowl in this 2009 season. Mora should have at least 2 if not 3 years to rebuild the Seahawks.
1) Steve Spagnuolo, St. Louis Rams – The top candidate on everyone’s wish list from last year may wish he was still coordinating the Giants’ defense. Even a first year coach needs to win a game and the uncertainty surrounding the ownership change may toast Steve’s buns.

Agree or disagree? This completes our journey through the eight divisions of the NFL – the next entry will analyze changes since our early blogs, determine the “hottest” of hot seats and look at potential replacement candidates.
