Drafttek College Fantasy Football – USC Trojans

My entry in the Drafttek College Fantasy Football League (DCFFL) is the “USC Trojans”.   Per the rules of our league, I claim limited dominion over actual USC players.   But despite real USC’s trouncing over the weekend of SJ State, my fantasy squad came up against the hottest team in the DCFFL – the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Managed by Brett Stott, his squad got production across the board:

1) 33 pts Jacquizz Rodgers RB Oregon St

2) 33 pts Blaine Gabbert QB Mizzou

3) 27 pts Cody Slate TE Marshall

My USC squad highlights:

1) Got 30 from Texax Tech QB Tyler Potts who passed for 405 yds

2) USC’s RB Joe McKnight added 28 on 145 yds – 2 TDs

3) Georgia Tech Heisman candidate Jonathan Dwyer didn’t play much against Jax St with just 7 carries.  But this dearth of carries produced 95 yards and 21 pts.

But it was the receiving corp which let the squad down.  Damian Williams (USC) netted 7 points, Golden Tate added 6, while Arrelious Benn went out with an ankle injury and did not contribute.   Ed Dickson, an early round draft prospect, didn’t help either with only 2 catches for 19 yds.

Next Week Drafttek-USC (DT-USC) faces DT-Rutgers.  DT-R doesn’t have the big names, but managed to do 19 pts better than DT-USC in week 1.   That 200 passing (2TD)/200 rushing (2TD) effort by UAB’s Joe Webb had to be a fluke . . .
